Webinar Objective: to provide a Q&A session for evaluators who are interested in learning about what it is like to work as an independent consultant.

Thinking about evaluation consulting? Bring your questions and join external evaluation consultants Joy Weismiller and Kylie Hutchinson for an open Q&A session on the ins and outs of independent evaluation consulting. Together, Kylie and Joy have over 40 years’ experience working independently. Prior to “hanging out their shingles”, both speakers were employed in the non-profit and public sectors.

We encourage you to think about questions you want to ask prior to the event and send your questions to damienchen9@gmail.com with the email heading "Evaluation Consulting questions". There will be opportunities to ask questions during the event as well

Biographies of presenters:

Joy Weismiller, MPA, PGDipSc, BA

Joy founded Juniper Consulting in 2003 to help organizations find innovative ways to solve puzzles, gain clarity and identify a path forward. Since then, Joy and her team of experienced associates have worked collaboratively with dozens of organizations to support them with evaluation, stakeholder engagement, policy and program implementation, strategy and planning. Prior to establishing Juniper Consulting, Joy worked for close to 20 years as a public and non-profit manager, working in evaluation, policy development, health promotion and as a performance (value for money) auditor for the Office of the Auditor General. Joy is a former CES Regional Coordinator for Vancouver Island.

Kylie Hutchinson, BSc, CE

Kylie Hutchinson is an evaluation consultant with Community Solutions Planning & Evaluation. Her passion is developing practical tools and resources for evaluators working in the trenches. In 2020 she was awarded the CES Contribution to Evaluation in Canada award. She is the author of three books on program planning and evaluation: A Short Primer on Innovative Evaluation ReportingEvaluation Failures: 22 Tales of Mistakes Made and Lessons Learned, and Survive and Thrive: Three Steps to Securing Your Program’s Sustainability
