Or do they?

Join a lively conversation on evaluation bloopers and lessons learned led by well-known evaluators Kylie Hutchinson, Diana Tindall and Marla Steinberg.  Not all mistakes will have positive outcomes; positive for who?  Errors can be learning opportunities.

This is an open session for anyone who is interested, from career transitioners, to students to new CES members or the curious.  In the 2016 national member survey, CES heard you clearly say that more efforts can be made for new evaluators -- this is (y)our chance to pick up on recent Chapter initiatives and see what works to launch a national stream to connect and support new evaluators.

The conversation will wrap up with a call for interest of volunteers to form an ongoing working group to organize similar initiatives for emerging evaluators.

Presenters:

• Kylie Hutchinson is a Credentialed Evaluator and Principal with Community Solutions Planning & Evaluation. She is the author of A Short Primer on Innovative Evaluation Reporting, Survive and Thrive: Three Steps to Securing Your Program’s Sustainability  and is editing a multi-authored collection of stories on evaluation failures for Sage Publishe1rs.

• Diana Tindall is a Credentialed Evaluator and Principal with Atrimonta Consulting. She is in the process of creating toolkits for Client-Centred Evaluation, logic modelling and evaluation surveys (at http://www.atrimonta.com/toolkit.html).

• Marla Steinberg is a Credentialed Evaluator living and working in Vancouver, British Columbia. For over twenty-five years she has been helping funders, foundations, governments, community-based organizations and practitioners measure their impact and find ways to improve their programming.
