Presented by IPAC (The Institute of Public Administration of Canada) Vancouver & SFU School of Public Policy:

Inter-generational learning is an important component of effective and well-functioning work places. Such learning is a critical tool in undertaking Succession Planning – an important business process - within organizations. The reality is that many organizations face challenges in undertaking successful succession planning. Too often seasoned professionals retire or move on without imparting the vast knowledge and experience they have acquired throughout their careers. This lack of knowledge transfer represents a loss to the organization.

With this in mind, this seminar will focus on mining the wisdom of “seasoned professionals” and developing leadership at all levels. Participants will gather insights from speakers and panelists on the opportunities for inter-generational learning including mentoring, coaching, leadership development and transferring knowledge.

As well, organizations and governments face constantly escalating threats to both physical and information security. Kick-start your inter-generational learning by hearing about the need for an effective Corporate Security Program and engage in an interactive discussion on developing “Leaders at All Levels”. The seminar will close with a “Speakers Corner” where you are invited to ask our speakers and panelists questions about topics that are of interest to you.

Keynote speakers, moderators and panelists include:

  • Garrick Bradshaw, Principal Consultant, GMB Management Consulting
  • Teara Fraser, CEO/Owner, Raven Institute
  • Filip Jaworski, Graduate Candidate, SFU School of Public Policy
  • Noreen Kassam, Director of Finance, City of Burnaby
