Bursaries Overview

We strive to expand our reach for equity, diversity, and inclusivity in our conference activities by providing financial support to individuals historically excluded in our community and who are experiencing barriers to participate through offering bursaries.

Bursary applications for the 2024 CESBC conference are now open! Apply here.

Consistent with the Canadian Evaluation Society’s values, the CESBC Chapter:

Recognizes that evaluators have a role to play in addressing systemic issues that affect people’s lives. Evaluators are in a position to influence the decisions of governments, non-governmental organizations and other key service providers whose actions affect our daily realities. We consider it part of our mandate to support evaluators in dismantling systemic and structural oppression and are actively working towards modelling inclusion, encouraging diverse perspectives, and learning new ways to acknowledge and address the struggles of historically oppressed communities.

As CESBC seeks to promote Diversity, Equity and Inclusion and increase accessibility at our 2024 conference, we welcome applications for funding support from any historically, persistently, or systematically marginalized groups, including Indigenous Peoples, racialized people, people with disabilities, and/or members of the 2SLGBTQIA+ communities.

We have established a bursary program to subsidize:

  • Conference registration early bird fees
  • Transportation costs for those travelling outside of Greater Vancouver area (up to $500, depending on the location and the financial need)
  • Per-diem expenses such as hotels (maximum $300)

Based on your financial needs, and your location of residence, you might be able to access financial support for one or more areas of subsidy identified above to a maximum of $700. Please note that CESBC has limited bursary funds and will try to assist as many applicants as possible.

Applications can be filled out and submitted here.

The due date for applications is August 30th and you will hear back about your application status no later than September 8th.

We are committed to inclusive participation in our conference activities. Please contact us any time at CESBC.Conference@gmail.com to let us know how we can support you!
