CESBC Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion Fund
The Canadian Evaluation Society BC Chapter (CESBC) recognizes the importance of advancing diversity, equity, and inclusion in the CESBC community. We are committed to creating a culture in which people from underrepresented groups have greater opportunities to participate as members, evaluators, and leaders.

The Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion (DEI) Fund aims to reduce financial barriers to professional development in the evaluation profession for underrepresented groups.
Grants provide up to $500 per individual to attend an evaluation-related training or conference.
The activity can take place in any location (within or outside of BC). DEI Funds can be used for CESBC’s pre-conference workshop.

Applicants must demonstrate interest in an evaluation-related event and be a member of an underrepresented group including:
Black, Indigenous, and People of Colour (BIPOC), and/or
Two-Spirit or part of the LGBTQIA+ community, and/or
Persons living with disabilities
New immigrants, refugees, or asylum-seekers
Applicants may be new to evaluation, experienced in evaluation, or working in other fields and interested in developing evaluation knowledge.

Applicants do not need to be CES members.
Applicants must be residents of BC.
Applicants must demonstrate an interest in an evaluation-related learning opportunity and/or identify how the learning opportunity will support their evaluation career.
Previous recipients may apply again (re-applications are permitted each calendar year).
Note: DEI funds cannot be used for tuition or for the CESBC Conference. There is a bursary program available for conference attendance.

Applications must complete the application form including all required fields. Your responses are confidential and will not be available to anyone outside the CESBC DEI Committee. This information may be reported at an aggregate level at CESBC Council Meetings.
Applications are accepted on a rolling basis until available funds are fully disbursed.
The application processing time is 2–3 weeks (with the exception of requests for the pre-conference workshop). Once the application has been reviewed, the CESBC DEI Committee will be in touch.

Successful applicants will receive next steps from the committee to:
Submit proof of payment for reimbursement (itemized receipt including applicable taxes). We aim to provide reimbursement within 2-3 weeks.
Complete a short follow-up survey

If an application is not approved, the committee will share reasons for the decision and may invite a revised re-application within the same calendar year.
