CES National

The Canadian Evaluation Society (CES) is a professional association of evaluators dedicated to the advancement of evaluation theory and practice. CESBC is the British Columbia Chapter. The following are key services and resources that are accessed through the national organization rather than through the provincial BC Chapter.

Join CES

Joining CES means you become a member of the national organization. Membership is managed at a national rather than provincial level and is renewed annually. Read about the benefits of joining CES by visiting the national website.

Credentialed Evaluator (CE) Designation

The CE designation recognizes evaluators who have demonstrated competence through education and practical experience. It's a voluntary professional designation for CES members that signals commitment to evaluation excellence and ethical practice. See the CES National website for information on how to apply.

Canadian Journal of Program Evaluation (CJPE)

CJPE is a bilingual (English/French), open-access, peer-reviewed academic journal published three times a year by the Canadian Evaluation Society. It publishes full-length articles (up to 7,000 words), research and practice notes (up to 3,000 words), and book reviews on evaluation theory and methodology.

CES members receive access to the journal as part of their membership. Browse articles and see submission guidelines on the CES National website.

Roots and Relations

Roots & Relations provides a dedicated space within CJPE for scholarship that centers Indigenous ways of knowing, being, and doing in evaluation practice. We welcome submissions exploring Indigenous evaluation frameworks, culturally responsive approaches, and the decolonization of evaluation. Submissions can include:

  • Research articles on Indigenous evaluation methodologies

  • Case studies of culturally responsive evaluation

  • Reflections on decolonizing evaluation practice

  • Community perspectives and book reviews

Submissions are accepted on a rolling basis. Download our Evergreen Call for Proposals or request a copy from cjpe@evaluationcanada.ca
