Join CESBC Lower Mainland and Northern Coordinators for a free virtual screening of André Picard's keynote, "Denial of Evidence in the Information Age" (originally delivered at the 2026 Canadian Evaluation Society conference)! André Picard is a celebrated Globe and Mail health columnist and Order of Canada recipient. He unpacks the seven faces of misinformation, why trust breaks faster than it builds, and what it will actually take to rebuild it.

"In an era defined by unprecedented access to information, the denial and distortion of evidence has become a growing threat to public discourse, scientific progress, and social cohesion. Despite robust data and rigorous evaluation methods, well-established facts are increasingly challenged—often shaped by political influence, funding pressures, and attempts to control narratives. How do we navigate this brave new world? Where is the light at the end of the tunnel?"

The screening also comes with accompanying regional events! Keep an eye out for Northern Coordinator's upcoming virtual lunch-and-learn to further engage with the topic. In September, an exciting in person gathering will also take place in Lower Mainland for you to share your thoughts with other professionals and students in the evaluation field.
